VIRTUAL TOUR: Galle Face seafront in Sri Lanka's capital Colombo, seen through Google's Street View
ECONOMYNEXT - Google has launched 'Street View' allowing viewers to travel virtually around the island, going through highways and small roadways looking at historic monuments or their own house if they live in the island.
"To capture this imagery, we drove close to 50,000 kilometers across every state and province so that you can virtually explore this beautiful landscape from coast to coast," Nishant Nair, Program Manager for Street View Operations in the Asia Pacific area said in a blog post.
Google has been collecting imagery about the country from late 2014.
Virtual travellers can Street View the capital Colombo in the West coast, Arugam Bay in the East, Galle in the South, Jaffna in the north and Matale and Kandy in the centre.
