Sri Lanka stocks down, net foreign buying

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lankan stocks closed lower Tuesday in thin trade with foreigners net buyers, mainly in Ceylon Cold Stores (CCS), brokers said.
The All Share Price Index closed at 6,325.46, down 21.24 points or 0.33% while the more liquid SP SL20 index fell 30.31 points (0.82%) to close at 3,662.64. Turnover was Rs358 million.
Crossings accounted for 29% of the turnover with one crossing each in Hatton Nation Bank and Hemas Holdins, Asia Securities said in a report.
Foreign investors were net buyers of Rs26.6 million worth of shares, with estimated foreign buying mainly in CCS, which closed at Rs940a share, down Rs9.50.
Estimated net foreign selling was mainly in John Keells Holdings.
