Sri Lanka to grow 5.5-pct in 2019: central bank

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s central bank has forecast the island’s economic growth will pick up to 5.5% in 2019 from 5% this year.
According to the bank’s annual report for 2017 launched Thursday, real gross domestic product growth will accelerate further to 6% in 2020 and maintain that momentum over the next two years.
It forecast annual average inflation will fall to 4% this year from a provisional 6.6% in 2017 and slowdown further to 5% in the next four years.
