Sri Lanka tourism promoted in US

ECONOMYNEXT - Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and thirteen leisure firms from Sri Lanka participated in a promotional event in Washington DC, as part of road show covering the United States.
Gamini Keerawella, Charge de Affaires of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Washington D.C said the US could be an important market for Sri Lanka as it had a large annual outbound volumes.
Analysts say the US is an important market for East Asian nations where travel companies offer multi-country packages, the Sri Lanka embassy in Washington said.
The road shows started on October 02 in New York.
Fifteen US travel firms had participated building links with the Sri Lankan travel trade.
Sri Lanka's Jetwing and Aitken Spence were among those representing the country. (Colombo/Oct06/2017)
