7.3 magnitude earthquake in Indonesia

A powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.3 struck the coast of Indonesia this morning (24).
The Banda Sea was hit by the earthquake which reportedly occurred at a depth of 214 kilometres.
The quake was felt by residents in the Australian city of Darwin who were evacuated from the buildings as a precaution.
However, Australian authorities have yet to issue a tsunami warnings yet.
The earthquake will have no effect on Sri Lanka, the Department of Meteorology said.
