ECONOMYNEXT - Wrapping up a 300 million US dollar loan from the Bank of China had been delayed due to Chinese New Year holidays, Treasury Secretary R H Samaratunga said.
Sri Lanka was initially hoping to conclude the loan by the end of January, but intervening holidays for the China New Year had delayed negotiations, he said.
Sri Lanka had said earlier the loan could be upsized to about a billion US dollars. (Colombo/Feb07/2019 - SB)
