Big Bad Wolf Book Sale opens in Sri Lanka

ECONOMYNEXT - Big Bad Wolf Book Sale billed as the world's biggest book sale with 1.5 million books, opened in Sri Lanka's capital Colombo on October 4.

Founded by Managing Director Andrew Yap and Executive Director Jacqueline Ng in Malaysia, the sale is aimed at encouraging the reading of English books at reasonable prices.

The sale at Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre in Colombo, inaugurated by Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam will be open 24 hours a day for 11 days.

The founders had started the first sale in 2009 in Selangor state in Malaysia. It has also been held in Thailand and Indonesia.

The BBW is backed in Sri Lanka by ProRead Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, a firm with a mission of spreading knowledge with affordable books.

    Why would anyone will be interested in books nowadays? Books is easy,but with Tablet PDF books are way to go. There is lot of video training in modular basis, there is no need for books. Pirated books are every where, without paying large sums people can download pirated books.
