Commercial, Sampath among banks to run counters at Sri Lanka airport

ECONOMYNEXT - Publicly traded Commercial Bank of Ceylon, Sampath Bank and state-run Bank of Ceylon and People's Bank, have been licensed to run foreign exchange counters at the arrivals terminal of Colombo airport.
The cabinet of ministers had also approved Thomas Cook Lanka Pvt Ltd, has also been approved to run a counter, in a proposal submitted by Civil Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva.
The counters will be run beyond the customs areas in the arrivals lounge at Katunayake International Airport.
According to the Airport and Aviation Services, which runs the airport, Bank of Ceylon, People's Bank, Sampath Bank and Hatton National Bank operates counters in the public area of the airport at the moment. (Colombo/May16/2018)
