Sri Lanka Chevron unit wins 1.1mn litre CEB lube deal

ECONOMYNEXT - Sri Lanka's Chevron Lubricants unit had won a deal to supply 1.1 million litres of lube to state-run Ceylon Electricity Board worth around 300 million rupees.
The cabinet of ministers had given the go ahead to buy lube for the Sapugaskande power station to Chevron Lubricants Lanka Ltd at the lowest bidding price of 264.88 rupees a litre, which was about 20 percent lower than last year.
The deal is valued at 291.3 million rupees with 32.0 million rupees in valued added tax. A contingency provision of 10 percent has also been proposed.
The Sapugaskande station has four 18 MegaWatt diesel plants and 8 10MW plants.
