Sri Lanka FinMin World Bank discuss South Asian integration, climate resilience

ECONOYNEXT - Region World Bank officials who met Sri Lanka's Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera had discussed greater South Asian integration and disaster mitigation.
The Finance Ministry said World Bank's Executive Director India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka, S. Aparna, Country Director Idah Z. Pswarayi-Riddihough had met Minister Mangala Samaraweera.
"Discussions also focused on how the government could leverage resources to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and encouraged the government to integrate more with other nations in South Asia," the Finance Ministry said.
The World Bank was also ready to work with Sri Lankan government to mitigate climate related disasters, Aparna had said. (Colombo/Sept22/2017)
