Sri Lanka Supreme Court case against PM changes re-fixed for Jan29

ECONOMYNEXT - A legal challenge to the disputed sacking of Ranil Wickremesinghe by President Maithripala Sirisena which was take up before the Supreme court Monday will be taken up on January 29, with a similar case.
Oshala Herath, a former official attached to the President Maithripala Sirisena's filed the case saying his fundamental rights were infringed.
Justices Priyantha Jayawardena, Prasanna Jayawardena and Vijith Malalgoda re-fixed the case to be heard with a similar case filed by Dabara Amila thero, a Buddhist monk, lawyers said.
Niranjan de Silva appeared for Herath, Viran Corea for Wickremesinghe and M A Sumanthiran for R Sampathan and Sanjaya Rajaratnam appeared for the Attorney General.
Later this week, the Supreme Court will hear a case against the dissolution of parliament by President Sirisena. (Colombo/Nov03/2018 - Corrected date of hearing)
