Sri Lanka awards fertiliser contracts for paddy cultivation

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has awarded three companies contracts to supply 60,000 metric tonnes of chemical fertilisers at prices ranging from US$307.18 to $333.5 per tonne.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the contracts to supply fertiliser for the ‘Yala’ paddy cultivation season on a proposal by Duminda Dissanayake, Minister of Agriculture.
A statement said 24,000 Metric Tons of Urea Fertilizer will be supplied by Ameropa Asia (Pvt.)Ltd. at US$ 307.18 per tonne, 18,000 Triple Super Phosphate by Agri Commodities & Finance FZE at US$ 333.5a tonne and 18,000 Metric Tons of Muriate of Potash by Agricultural Resources and Investment (Pvt.) Ltd. at $ 315.85 a tonne.
