Sri Lanka banks, Thomas Cook, win currency exchange franchises at airport

ECONOMYNEXT - Sri Lanka has awarded three-year franchises to operate foreign currency exchange couners at the main airport in the country to commercial banks and travel services provider Thomas Cook.
State-run Bank of Ceylon and publicly traded Sampath Bank, Commercial Bank and Hatton National Bank have won three-year franchises.
The cabinet of ministers had approved a proposal by Civil Aviation Minister Arjuna Ranatunga to appoint the franchisees who were chosen by a standing procurement committee. (Colombo/Mar24/2019-SB)
