Sri Lanka chamber links with Singapore businesses to exploit FTA

ECONOMYNEXT - Sri Lanka's Ceylon Chamber of Commerce says it has strengthened links with Singapore businesses to exploit opportunities to coming from a free trade agreement recently inked with the city state.
The Sri Lanka Singapore Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber has inked an memorandum of understanding with the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
In January it had signed a MoU with another Singaporean chamber, the Singapore Business Federation. The Chamber says works closely with International Enterprise Singapore.
"With the signing of the MoU with the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we look forward to a strong partnership between our Chambers and membership resulting in growing trade and investment opportunities," said Shamil Mendis, President of the Sri Lanka-Singapore Business Council was quoted as saying in a statement.
A delegation from Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry looking to invest and trade with Sri Lanka has ed by its chief Reynold Ng had just concluded with networking opportunities for local business, the Chamber said.
A big delegation of Singapore businesses had also visited the country in January, when the FTA was signed with Singapore's Prime Minister. (COLOMBO, 09 May 2018)
