Sri Lanka rupee closes weaker, bond yields up marginally

ECONOMYNEXT – The Sri Lanka rupee closed weaker at 175.45/55 rupees against the US dollar in the spot market on Friday while bond yields rose marginally, dealers said.

In the secondary bond market, gilt yields ended marginally up in Friday's closing.

Twelve month bills closed at 8.40/50.

A bond maturing on 15.10.2021 closed at 8.70/74 percent.

A bond maturing on 15.03.2023 closed at 9.50/53 percent, up from the previous closing of 9.40/48 percent.

A bond maturing on 15.03.2024 ended at 9.72/76 percent, easing from 9.73/78 percent.

A bond maturing on 01.08.2026 closed at 9.92/95 percent, down from 9.93/98 percent.

A bond maturing on 15.01.2027 closed flat at 9.97/10.02 percent.

A 10-year bond maturing on 01.05.2029 closed at 10.06/11 percent, up from 10.05/15 percent in the previous close. (COLOMBO, 12 July, 2019)
