Sri Lanka rupee ends weaker, gilt yields ease

ECONOMYNEXT - Sri Lanka's rupee closed weaker at 176.65/80 to the US dollar in the spot market on Wednesday and bond yields fell, market participants said.
The rupee closed at 176.30/40 to the greenback on Tuesday.
In the secondary market, yields eased before the bills auction and stable after the auction, dealers said.
A bond maturing on 15.12.2021 closed at 9.35/45 percent on Wednesday, falling from 9.55/65 percent at Tuesday's close.
A bond maturing on 15.03.2023 closed at 9.75/80 percent, down from 10.05/15 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.03.2024 closed at 9.90/10.00 percent, falling from 10.10/15 percent.
A bond maturing on 01.08.2026 closed at 10.20/25 percent, falling from 10.35/40 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.01.2027 closed at 10.23/28 percent on Wednesday, down from Tuesday's 10.40/45 percent.
A 10-year bond maturing on 01.05.2029 closed at 10.50/55 percent, falling from 10.60/70 percent. (Colombo, 22 May, 2019)
