ECONOMYNEXT - Sri Lanka's Dialog Axiata Plc said that its fourth generation fixed and mobile networks have been enabled with Voice over LTE (VoLTE) allowing customers to experience near stereo quality.
"VoLTE capability has been activated across the Dialog LTE Networks," Dialog said. "Subscribers would however require a LTE handset or LTE CPE (Customer Premise Equipment), which is VoLTE capable in order to experience VoLTE,"
"It is envisaged that a majority of upper-end LTE handsets would be produced with VoLTE capability going forward."
Dialog operates an FD-LTE high speed fourth generation network for mobile and TD-LTE network for fixed access broadband.
Earlier in the week, Dialog said it became the first telco in South Asia to demonstrate 4.5G Services with a throughput of 1Gbps over an LTE air interface. (Colombo/June23/2016)
