ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka's The Kingsbury says it will invest two million US dollars to bring CÉ LA VI, an upmarket brand that operates restaurants and lounges in luxury properties to its rooftop, with Colombo becoming more attractive to high-end visitors.

"So, The Kingsbury should have a brand to compete with," he said."We want to get even the people staying at those other hotels to come visit us here for world class entertainment."

Colombo is one of several emerging destinations A CÉ LA VI is expanding to along with Dubai, Malaysia and Tokyo, Shanghai.

“There are a lot of rapid developments in Colombo," CÉ LA VI Marketing Head Francesca Way said.

"Sri Lanka is an emerging market that stands out and we want to be first movers. We don’t want to follow trends. We want to set trends. So we wanted to capitalize on Colombo."
