ECONOMYNEXT - Sri Lanka's President Maithripala Sirisena kicked off construction on an expressway which is financed by China in the island's south on July 04.

The road will end in ex-President Mahinda Rajapaksa's home constituency. Sri Lanka's new administration has been highly critical of Chinese financed projects under the former administration saying they were corrupt and had inflated costs.

Another useless Chinese project the country cannot afford. 25,000 people don't need an expressway. This is to MR the Chinese puppets home town to appease him before the elections. This money should be invested in education or healthcare or sanitation.
