Sri Lanka stocks close stronger

ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka's stocks closed stronger on Thursday from a day earlier despite net foreign selling, brokers said.
The All-Share Price Index was up 0.03 percent, or 1.86 points from Wednesday, ending at 5,984.05. The more liquid S&P SL20 Index was up 1.54 points at 3,037.63.
Market turnover was 390.1 million rupees.
Foreigners were selling, with net outflows of 274 million rupees.
Local buying in beverage manufacturer Ceylon Cold Stores Plc drove the All-Share, with the firm's share up 5.28 percent, or 38.50 rupees to 768.30 rupees.
Dialog Axiata, up 10 cents to 10.10 rupees, and Commercial Bank, up 80 cents to 114 rupees, also contributed positively to the index.
There was selling in Melstacorp, Sri Lanka Telecom and Ceylon Tobacco shares. (Colombo/Jan10/2019)
