ECONOMYNEXT  - Sri Lanka state-run Ceylon Electricity Board will call international tenders for 100 MegaWatts of power to be connected to the grid for the next six months.

Cabinet Spokesman Minister Rajitha Senaratne said bids are expected to be called and supplier selected within a month.

There is an expired plant in Sri Lanka and barge mounted emergency plants could respond quickly, industry analysts say.
