ECONOMYNEXT – An arrest warrant issued by the Colombo High Courts to former MP Hirunika Premachandra for not appearing in court has been recalled after she appeared before the courts a short while ago, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) media spokesman Erananda Hettiarachchci told EconomyNext.
The arrest warrant was issued this morning after the former MP had left the court premises without permission to attend to her infant child, he said.
“The warrant was recalled by the courts after she returned to the courts a while ago,” he said. The MP had returned within minutes of the arrest warrant being issued.
The warrant was issued in connection with the case filed over the former MP’s alleged involvement in the abduction of a youth in 2015. (Colombo/Mar10/2021)
