Asia Securities and Ceylon Chamber webinar on Financial Restructuring
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Ceylon Chamber of Commerce said it is hosting an online forum with Asia Securities, on financial restructuring as companies face many challenges.
Companies often do not see financial restructuring as viable tool due to the lack of awareness, unfamiliarity related to legal and regulatory issues, the inability to raise the required capital to support restructuring, and difficulties in engaging with banks to restructure debt, the organizer said.
The Chamber Academy will collaborate with Asia Securities Investment Banking Team at 1100 am on Thursday, 3 September 2020.
“Resilient businesses are the engine of Sri Lanka’s economy and will lead the way in driving the country’s growth story,” the Chamber said.
“However, Sri Lankan businesses now face several challenges triggered by the economic fallout of the pandemic, as well as years of sub-standard economic growth.
“For large- and mid-size businesses, economic recovery will require thoughtful consideration of the company’s objectives, shrewd analysis of the market landscape, and a comprehensive understanding of investors’ expectations.
“A focused financial restructuring strategy will help business leaders kickstart growth and spur the nation’s economic recovery. (Colombo/Sep02/2020)
