Dialog Enterprise Unveils Cutting-Edge Fuel-Monitoring System

Dialog Enterprise, the corporate ICT solutions arm of Dialog Axiata PLC, has unveiled a timely technological solution for precision fuel and energy consumption monitoring. Developed in partnership with the University of Moratuwa Research Laboratory, rigorously tested and used on Dialog’s base stations, and released ahead of schedule, the solution will help organizations optimize fuel consumption.

Based on the Internet of Things (IoT) technology that is transforming industries worldwide, this solution uses multiple sensor types to record and showcase information in systems in real-time, 24/7, alerting via SMS, email, or the web when users reach critical thresholds. The solution also offers users a wide range of options to trigger alerts based on their security clearance and allows them to view the status of all their operational vehicles on one dashboard.

This futuristic solution, developed in line with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) compliance, has helped Dialog engineers to maintain uninterrupted power and connectivity during times of fuel shortage. The good news is that the solution can now be quickly and easily adapted to meet the specific needs of other industries, especially to monitor and manage large-capacity generators and fuel depots. Its immediate deployment at fuel stations, factories, hotels and other relevant industries around the country could contribute to substantial savings while acting as an anti-pilfering tool.

According to Pradeep De Almeida, Group Chief Technology Officer, Dialog Axiata PLC, energy conservation is critical to healthy bottom-line growth amidst the prevailing economic challenges. “We are confident that an infinitely scalable solution such as this would bring greater cost savings, reduce unnecessary wastage, and provide the necessary data and trends analysis for informed decision-making,” De Almeida averred.

Dialog engineers who successfully deployed the solution across their base stations found that the fully automated solution significantly decreased downtime, breakdowns, and operational costs, leading to improved profit margins, asserted Navin Pieris, Group Chief Officer of Dialog Enterprise. “At Dialog Enterprise, we are committed to introducing the latest technological advancements, customized for our local market and geared to solve pressing business concerns. This solution is just one of several in the development pipeline that corporates can expect soon,” he said.
