Brokers meet PM, seeks state support to boost Sri Lanka stocks
ECONOMYNEXT – Stockbrokers who met Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and had asked for state support to boost the market, a media report said.
Sri Lanka’s Daily Mirror newspaper said the Colombo Stock Brokers Association had asked for the Employees Provident Fund and Employees Trust Fund to buy stocks.
They had also suggested that state enterprises be listed, the report said.
They had also asked that the demutualization of the stock exchange be speeded up. (Colombo/Jan21/2020)
