Chamath Palihapitiya’s VC firm bleeding talent: reports
ECONOMYNEXT – Social Capital, a US-based tech company founded by ex-Facebook executive Chamath Palihapitiya has been bleeding top talent, with several co-founders striking out on their own, media reports said.
Among those who have left includes Marc Mesvinsty, vice chairman and Tony Bates, CEO of Social Capital Growth.
Arjun Sethi partner has co-founded Tribe Capital, a rival firm, with Jonathan Hsu, who was a senior vice president add Ted Maidenberg, general partner.
Ashley Mayer and Mike Ghaffary, partners have also left. Last year co-founder Mamoon Hamid had left.
Palihapitiya has also been grappling with family problems, reports said.
Reports suggested that the firm is in crisis not necessarily due to bad investments but due to internal conflicts and management problems.
