Chrisantha Perera appointed to Central Bank governing board
ECONOMYNEXT – Chrishantha Perera, a senior business executive who had previously held positions in the public sector has been appointed to the governing board of Sri Lanka’s Central Bank.
President Maithripala Sirisena had appointed him to the Monetary Board with effect from June 24, the Central Bank said.
Perera is a veteran of the tea sector and had chaired the Forbes and Walker group.
He had previously chaired the Sri Lanka Tea Board, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation and the Public Enterprises Reforms Commission and the Bank of Ceylon.
