Coronavirus infected Chinese woman fully recovered, soon to be discharged
The 43-year-old Chinese tourist infected with the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) is recovering well and can be discharged from the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) in the next few days, Chief Epidemiologist of the Epidemiology Unit Dr Sudath Samaraweera said.
The Chinese woman who arrived in Sri Lanka from Hubei, China, was tested positive for the novel coronavirus, making her the first confirmed case reported from Sri Lanka.
Dr Samaraweera told EconomyNext that around 16 patients were receiving treatment at IDH for probable novel coronavirus infection as of this morning.
“We have yet to receive the tests reports of all patients. However, out of the reports we received so far, no patient is infected with the novel coronavirus,” Dr Samaraweera said.
