ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s health authorities have expressed concern over yet another COVID-19 patient to “escape” treatment at a state hospital.
The 43-year-old patient was undergoing treatment at the Welisara chest hospital. According to the National Operation Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19 (NOCPOC), he had run away from the hospital yesterday.
This is the fourth or fifth COVID-19 patient to make a run for it.
The official COVID-19 task force said state intelligence and the Welisara police are conducting a joint search operation in the area to locate the patient. (Colombo/Dec16/2020)
