ECONOMYNEXT – A COVID-19 infected patient has gone missing from the Ragama hospital this morning (07), the National Operations Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19 (NOCPOC) said.
The patient, a resident of Peliyagoda, had come to the Ragama hospital requesting a PCR test and subsequently tested positive for the novel coronavirus. By the time health officials tried to reach him to obtain information for contact tracing purposes, the patient was missing from the hospital, Army Spokesman Col Vijitha Hettiarachchi said.
The patient does not belong to the Brandix cluster or any cluster identified so far, he added.
UPDATE: The police headquarters has released the missing patient’s identity to the media, seeking the assistance of the public to track him down. His personal details are as follows:
