Two out of three leaders of informal organizations arrested for their alleged roles in the racial riots that broke out in the Kuliyapitiya area on Sunday are still in custody.
The three men are Dan Priyasad, head of the ultra-Sinhala Nationalist New Sinha Le, leader of the Mahason Balakaya Amith Weerasinghe and the Director of the Anti-Corruption front Namal Kumara.
Priyasad was let out on bail after he was produced by police before a Colombo magistrate yesterday, his lawyer Attorney-at-Law Ajith Prasanna told RepublicNext.
Prasanna also appeared for Amith Weerasinghe who was remanded until 28 May by another court.
Kumara meanwhile is also in custody and has been handed over to the CID, according to police.
Prasanna is Kumara’s lawyer as well.
