Dappula appointed Attorney General
Acting Attorney General Dappula de Livera was sworn in as the new Attorney General (AG) before President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat today (10).
The appointment was made following the unanimous approval given by the Constitutional Council on Tuesday (7) to Siriena’s recommendation of de Livera as AG.
According to a statement released by the President’s media division, H. M. Gamini Senevirathne has been appointed Secretary to the Ministry of Internal & Home Affairs and Provincial Councils & Local Government, while K. J. Ashoka Alawaththa has been appointed Secretary to the Ministry of Primary Industries and Social Empowerment.
The new appointees received their letters of appointment from the President today.
