Dialog Axiata pushes stocks up 0.05-pct on second-day trade of 2020
ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka’s stocks closed 0.05 percent higher on Friday, ending a two-day retreat, pushed up by the telco Dialog Axiata, provisional data showed.
The All Share Price Index (ASPI) at the Colombo Stock Exchange closed 2.75 points up at 6,111.28.
The ASPI fell to a daily low of 6101.02 within the first half-hour of trade but gained to an intra-day high of 6,137.95 before noon and remained volatile throughout the day.
S&P SL20 Index of most liquid stocks closed 0.40 percent or 11.78 points up at 2,940.87.
Market turnover was 596.7 million rupees, with 42 stocks gaining and 66 falling.
Dialog Axiata gained 40 cents to 12.80 rupees a share, Commercial Leasing and Finance closed 30 cents up at 3.80 rupees a share and LOLC Finance gained 30 cents to 4.20 rupees a share, contributing to ASPI’s gain. (COLOMBO/Jan03/2020)
