Explosions in Sri Lanka on Easter day leaves dozens injured
ECONOMYNEXT- A number of explosions were reported across Sri Lanka on Sunday morning, injuring over 50, reports said.
Easter Sunday masses at the Kochchikade St. Anthony’s Church, the St. Sebastian’s Church in Negombo and the Zion Church in Batticaloa were disrupted with explosions, media reports said.
Explosions were also reported at three 5-star hotels in Colombo.
Officials from Cinnamon Grand and the Kingsbury luxury hotels in Colombo confirmed explosions at their hotels.
Police and emergency services were reported around the Shangri-La hotel as well, eyewitnesses said.
Privately-held MTV television network reported Colombo Hospital officials as saying that over 50 injured have been admitted. (Colombo/Apr21/2019-SB)
