Four Polish nationals under observation at IDH for COVID-symptoms
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has placed four Polish tourists under observation for COVID19 infection after they were detected at the International Airport with possible symptoms a top official said.
Janaka Sri Chandragupta, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Health told EconomyNext that these passengers “have not tested positive yet but are only under observation.”
The passengers were leaving Sri Lanka for Russia when they were spotted at the Bandaranaike International Airport by staff and referred to the authorities.
It’s not yet known how long they have stayed in the country, the official said.
Sri Lanka so far has 5 persons who are confirmed with COVID19.
A total of 103 were under observation at hospitals around the country by 1030 am Saturday including 03 foreign nationals.
Two of the three confirmed Sri Lankan cases were tour guides and one had worked with Italian visitors.
Of the others two were recent returnees from Italy and were already in quarantine and the third had recently come from Germany.
Shortly after that Sri Lanka banned flights from eight more European countries.(Colombo March 14, 2020)
