Germany gives Sri Lanka Euro 11mn to boost SME tech skills
ECONOMYNEXT – Germany has given Sri Lanka an 11 million Euro technical assistance grant to boost the technological skills of small and medium enterprises, the Finance Ministry said.
A grant of 7 million Euros will go for vocational training to provide technical skills in demand to young people.
Another 3.5 million will go to removing obstacles to global competitiveness in Small and Medium Enterprises.
The project will provide 0.5 million Euros to bring German experts.
Treasury Secretary S R Attygalle, Ambassador for Germany in Sri Lanka Jorn Rohde had signed the agreement in Colombo.
The project will be supported by GIZ, a German state agency that promotes capacity building. (SB-Colombo/June10/2020)
