Gota appoints team to pick professionals for state sector top jobs
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appointed a 6 member committee to make recommendations for the topmost positions in state institutions.
The committee is required to make recommendations to the positions in public enterprises, state institutions and state-owned commercial enterprises on or before the 18 December this year.
The committee is chaired by the former secretary to the cabinet of ministers and a senior state officer with extensive experience in the public sector Sumith Abeysinghe.
Other members are former John Keels chairman Susantha Rathnayake, former Stock Exchange Chairman Dr Nalaka Godahewa, former Managing Director of MAS Intimates Dian Gomes, Neurosurgeon Dr Prasanna Gunasena and Jagath Wellawatta former Chairman State Mortgage and Investment Bank.
