Govt will abolish the fuel price formula only if necessary-Amaraweera
Minister of Passenger Transport Management, Power and Energy Mahinda Amaraweera is saying the government will abolish the fuel price formula only if it is necessary.
Speaking to media this morning (26 Nov) he said that if the fuel price formula is to be abolished, it will be done only after a thorough investigation and after consulting the President and the Prime Minister.
Further, he also emphasized that the government will not do anything that will bring distress to the public.
The minister also added that according to the policies of the current government and the action plans taken by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, they do not expect to sell government assets or lease out for 99 years to a foreign country.
