Head of the Anglican Church arrived in Sri Lanka
Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby arrived in Sri Lanka this morning (29) for a three-day visit, according to the Church of Ceylon.
Minister of Christian Religious Affairs John Amaratunga and Minister of Transport Arjuna Ranatunga were present at the Bandaranaike International Airport to welcome the Archbishop of Canterbury and his delegation.
During his visit, Archbishop Welby is scheduled to meet with Archbishop of Colombo Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith and visit St. Sebastian’s Church, Katuwapitiya and meet the family members of the Easter Sunday attack victims.
Welby will also pay a courtesy call on the President, Prime Minister and the Opposition Leader during his stay in Sri Lanka and will also meet with the Mahanayake Theros of the three Chapters.
