Hotline for foreigners seeking information on Sri Lanka Easter blasts
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s foreign ministry has opened a hotline for foreigners seeking information on their loved ones who were involved in a series of bombings on Easter Sunday, a top official said.
Foreigners seeking information on their loved ones can call (94) 11232315 Foreign Secretary Ravinatha Ariyasingha said.
Around 30 foreigners may be among the 207 found to have been killed so far in eight separate blasts at churches and hotels around the country but positive identification was ongoing, he said.
Ariyasinha said details will be released to the media after respective countries had been informed.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said several American were killed in the blast. India and UK has also said their citizens were killed.
