Japan gives Rs275mn food grants to school kids

ECONOMYNEXT – Japan will provide 240 million Yen (275 million rupees) of good grants to Sri Lanka’s school meals program through the World Food program.

Japan will give canned fish made at plants in areas devastated by an earthquake and tsunami, which will also help the local people there.

The products meet food safety requirement, the Japanese embassy said in a statement.

From 2012 to 2014, Japan has provided 500 million Yen worth support to the school meals program in Sri Lanka.
