Kalutara doctors’ strike ends
Government doctors in Kalutara district who went on strike last afternoon (24) ended their trade union action at 8.00 am today (25).
Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge told RepublicNext that the doctors decided to end the strike as it was inconveniencing the general public.
The doctors launched the strike yesterday to protest against a group who had allegedly disrupted a ‘people’s no-confidence motion’ campaign against Minister Rajitha Senaratne carried out by the doctors.
However, Aluthge said the campaign will continue to be carried out island-wide today.
