ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s stocks closed 0.05 percent lower on Wednesday, dragged down by Lion Brewery Ceylon, provisional data showed.
The All Share Price Index (ASPI) fell 3.24 points to 6,059.09 and the S&P SL20 Index of most liquid stocks gained 0.27 percent or 7.81 points to 2,953.10.
The market turnover was 224.6 million rupees and 60 stocks gained while 69 stocks falling.
Moderate foreign investor participation saw 45.7 million rupees in net foreign outflows from the market.
Lion Brewery Ceylon closed 24.80 rupees down at 600.20 rupees a share, contributing most to ASPI’s fall.
Dialog Axiata fell 20 cents to 12.50 rupees a share, while LOLC Development Finance down 4.80 rupees to 38.50 rupees a share. (Colombo/Dec18/2019)
