Malaysia’s Maju group in US$14mn Sri Lanka housing venture
Dec 11, COLOMBO (Economynext) – Malaysia’s Maju group will invest in a 14 million US dollar housing complex in Hambantota in southern Sri Lanka, an official said.
Chairman of Sri Lanka’s Board of Investment Lakshman Jayaweera said Maju group unit Quest Ventures, will lead a consortium of investors.
The firm will build 200 housing units in Hambantota.
Separately, another group firm, MajuTMAS signed a deal with Sri Lanka’s transport ministry to provide technical support for an integrated transport hub in the capital Colombo.
The hub will link a planed light rail, bus rapid transport and rail.
