Most Sri Lanka Treasury bill auction bids rejected

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has rejected bids for a 90 billion rupee bill auction with most bids coming on the high side near historical 12-month inflation, data from the state debt office showed.

The debt office accepted 6.4 billion rupees of bids for 3-month bills at 24.07 percent, unchanged from last week, after offering 50 billion rupees of bills.

Only 3.4 billion rupees of bids for 6-month bills at 24.69 percent were accepted, unchanged from last week, after offering 20 billion rupees.

Only 6.6 billion rupees of 12-month bids were accepted at 24.50 percent the unchanged from last week, after offering 20 billion rupees.

Primary dealers had bid at rates around 24 to 31 percent.

Out of a total of 90 billion rupees auctioned, only 16 billion rupees were raised.
