ECONOMYNEXT - Sri Lanka and India plans to expedited delayed projects agreed in April 2017, and also take forward talks on a free trade deal, Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe had said at the end of an official visit to India.
A number of projects agreed in April, had been delayed, Prime Minister Wickremesinghe told Indian media.
Two of the projects involve both India and Japan, he had said. Sri Lanka had proposed joint projects
Wickramasinghe met India President, Prime Minister, the foreign minister and the leader of the opposition Congress party Sonia Gandhi.
Sri Lanka and India will take forward talks on an economic and trade deal based on a framework agreement already reached, he said.
An expanded Sri Lanka and India trade deal has been pending since 2005.
