Parliament will debate the No Confidence Motion (NCM) against Minister Rishad Bathiudeen on 18 and 19 June, Leader of the House Lakshman Kiriella said today (23)
At the party leaders meeting held this morning, no agreement was reached about the date.
But the government has proposed its dates for the debate.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also requested the Speaker to present the interim report of the parliamentary select committee which inquired into the allegations against Bathiudeen in the NCM within two weeks.
Forty members from both the governing party and the opposition were appointed to the select committee.
The NCM against Bathiudeen was handed over to the Speaker last Thursday (16) by the opposition signed by 64 Members.
Meanwhile, JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayaka said that they will take dates for the NCM against the government after the debate dates on NCM against Bathiudeen has been announced.
