Possibility of community spread through illegal immigrants, Sri Lanka health authorities warn
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Chief Epidemiologist Sudath Samaraweera in a press conference yesterday warned of a possibility of spreading the novel coronavirus in the community through illegal immigrants.
Sri Lanka’s health authorities have started conducting random PCR tests but no positive cases have been recorded so far.
A total of 630 had concluded their quarantine process at the military-run centres by 6am today, NOCPOC said, bringing the total number of completed quarantines in Sri Lanka to 33,041.
Sri Lanka reported a COVID-19 related death on August 24 bringing the total death due to Covid 19 to twelve. (Colombo/Aug 27/2020)
