President pays respects to deceased Police Inspector

President Maithripala Sirisena today paid his respects to deceased Police Inspector W. M. Rohana Bandara who was killed by suicide bombers in Dematagoda on Sunday.

Bandara died while attempting to inspect a suspect’s house in Dematagoda.

The President’s Media Division (PMD) said Sirisena visited the Inspector’s residence in Batuwandara, Piliyandala where his remains now lie. The President also expressed his deepest sympathy to Bandara’s widow and family members.

Three police officers were killed when two bombs were detonated by terrorists while trying to enter a house where the latter had been residing in Dematagoda.
