Probe into Easter attacks successful-Police
“The investigations into the 21 April attacks are being successfully continued by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID),” said Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara.
Addressing the Media yesterday (30) at the Ministry of Defence he further said that the CID has taken into custody 23 laptops, 3 desktop computers, 138 mobile phones and tabs, 30 external hard disks, 12 pen drives, 142 sim cards and 67 DVR, CDs and DVDs.” They are being analysed by the CID at the moment, he added.
In addition to that Gunasekara said that more than 1800 telephone numbers which were used by the terrorists and the people who contacted them from time-to-time are being also analysed by the CID.
He also said that the rumors about having security issues in two schools in Bambalapitiya and Kurunduwatte are not true.
Accordingly, the police have instructed the administration of the Bambalapitiya schools to renovate the fence of the school by the canal and remove unnecessary stocks from the storage room of the school.
“The School in Kurunduwatte was instructed to have a minimum amount of vehicles parked in front of the school during the morning and closing time,” he said
